Seufert Rechtsanwälte advised the industrial group Segura, headquartered in Paterna (Valencia), on the transfer of the entire business operations of the Kohl Automotive Group. Segura is dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metal components for automobiles, mainly through stamping and welding processes. The company has production sites in Spain and Hungary, and with this transaction also in Germany. The Kohl Automotive Group maintains production facilities in Treuenbrietzen and Eisenach. It filed for the opening of judicial reorganization proceedings under its own management in December 2022. The insolvency proceedings were opened in March 2023 as requested.
Segura and Kohl managed to agree on a continuation solution to maintain the production sites in Treuenbrietzen and Eisenach and the jobs there in intensive negotiations, in which were also involved customers, in a challenging environment in terms of time. The acquisition of the business operations of the Kohl Automotive Group by Segura has been successfully completed by means of an asset deal.
